hee. :) I took apart testicles today. my lab partner, who is a guy, wouldn't go near them with a probe, let alone a scalpel.
but I love anatomy, which tends to be a common med student (particularly if you're interested in surgery) sentiment.
I understand the theory of why your training would involve anatomy, but it kinda sucks that you're coming into a dissection that you didn't start. For us, making the first incision and then working with the same cadaver since september has made things a little more personal.
in any case, good luck - I hope things become a little more engaging, or at least just pass quickly enough so you can move on to dorkier things.
