Wearing his spiffy new uniform and carrying his jacket over his shoulder, Marion promenaded the hallways with a huge grin on his face. He didn't know why, but he felt like those stares seemed kind of... off for an All Boy's School. Well, whatever. It didn't seem like they would be shoving his face on any toilets soon, so he felt safe ( Read more... )

Hi, have a creeper instead. |D dofaye November 25 2009, 18:01:41 UTC
The boy walking through the halls was commanding far too much attention to be anyone but new -- and besides, Jules would have remembered that face. He stepped gracefully in front of the blond and shooed away the gawking students. "Did you just begin attending?" he asked, smiling just enough to be polite.

The sudden acknowledgment caught Marion by surprise, so he jumped and turned to face him. Oh. What an odd, pretty man--probably from class A, around 17 years old, Caucasian, and he had a regal air around him, so was he a nobleman? Whoever he was, he seemed polite enough. That was enough reason to stand confidently again. "Yessir," Marion answered, "I'm a transfer. I just spoke with the principal. He told me to look for the superintendent, Karl, or Mr. Watts."

Jules was surprised to see the boy so carefully examining him -- the other underclassmen were usually intimidated by him, even the ones who had attended Laconblade for years. This stick of a boy seemed to have his own sort of subtly commanding presence; probably worth keeping an eye on, Jules decided. "It's rather crowded in the halls; would you like me to take you there?" he asked, already beginning to stroll in that direction. "Ah," he stopped, "how rude of me. I am Jules de Ferrier. May I ask your name...?"

Marion nodded, smirking at the upperclassman. "I wouldn't mind. It might be easier to get there with someone that knows the place accompanying me, after all."

...de Ferrier. Why does that ring a bell? ...de Ferrier, de Ferrier, de Ferrier...oh. He was that... that--

"You're a high-class nobleman..," Marion pointed out, successfully managing in keeping his tone low. He took a deep breath before answering the man. "Marion Fiasse. If you wouldn't mind, may I ask you a question?"

It was one of those days again, when Gilbert had decided to ditch that idiotic Blough to the forest to have fun all by himself. It was only on those few times when Gilbert could actually feel the satisfaction, that he expected, with Blough. But mostly it all was just a play for him, and that swine couldn't see this. After all, ever since Rosemarine claimed that he would belong to Blough, the idiot's head had gotten much thicker and now he was misunderstanding his own value ( ... )

Seeing the barely dressed boy didn't surprise Marion. It was the opposite, actually. Marion was intrigued, smiling -- barely managing not to smirk -- at his direction. He assumed that this was the infamous Gilbert Cocteau; the boy that people spoke ill of, yet were all guilty of falling for him at some point.

"Hello," Marion greeted, hearing the barely audible gossip around them. "You're not in proper uniform."

Oh, just like he thought this new boy was just another of those good little innocent kids who were uptight with all the rules. In his tidy uniform and with such confident and rude tone in his voice created rather arrogant atmosphere around him.
Gilbert decided to ignore it, he did not need another 'good boy' or rule-fanatic around him. He was already put up with one kid like that (who just couldn't mind his own business and stop interfering with Gilbert's life.).

To return the favor of rudeness, Gilbert just coldly walked past this new boy without even looking at him, almost as if he hadn't seen or heard him.

Oh, like he would allow someone that caught his interest pass that easily. Marion followed, picking up his pace in order to walk beside him.

"Rules, rules, rules..," he began, not caring if Gilbert decided to ignore him. "They're impossible, aren't they? Dress properly, comb, wake up before seven... it's as if they were made to prevent everything natural about us, as human beings. Authority itself is hypocritical and ridiculous, but do you know why these rules are made?

"To benefit everyone, and to show them that everyone's equal. Rules, etiquette, authority... all of these are made to set a boundary between us, the thinking species, and the other animals that depend on nothing but instinct. It tells us that we're smart, we don't have to resort to survival of the fittest, but... people like you, people like the principal... you're all standing on the line, mocking it."

Marion, then, reached out to grab Gilbert's wrist. "I, for one, refuse to allow you to continue doing that."
