I'm reading "The Sun Also Rises" by Ernest Hemingway right now, and in the first 60 pages it seems to be a bit depressing. Similar (so far) in spirit to F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby," it talks about the trevails of the rich and upper-crust, and their fairly empty lives. I was giving some change to a good cause just now, helping kids get medical help or something in third-world countries (see, I really research this stuff), and I got to thinking.
