Charity

I was giving some change to a good cause just now, helping kids get medical help or something in third-world countries (see, I really research this stuff), and I got to thinking. Do we give money to alleviate that conscience-feeling of what we 'should' do, or just because the charity is the 'right' thing to do? I don't suppose it really matters, in ( Read more... )

I know I always give to charity because it could have been me in that third world country wishing that I would donate to myself, because if I didn't donate to myself I would soon die of starvation at my own selfish hand for not donating soon enough to prevent me from getting those raw runs. (Not referring to bank runs either.) I feel compassion on myself therefore, and wish to give myself more money, so I can feel better about myself and my situation. I completely forgot what I was about to write here. I don't remember at all. I charged my Zaurus today after a while of not using it. It does, in fact, erase everything on it once the backupbattery has been used up for a long time. Good thing for the stuff on my computer. Went to exercises today. They went well. I fell over, but it was okay because Jim, you know that retired teacher who is to the right of me during exercises, caught my fall with his cane. The cane broke, but I was okay. (I don't have to pay him back for it also, which is excellent.) Checked the mail. Got some mail. Went to sunday school. Don't you think that is great??
