Point:George W. has struck again, this time sticking to those whining Democrats, by installing John Bolton as the UN Ambassador, ending a five-month standoff over his appointment. The move was accomplished through the use of some sort of "back-door" appointment process, whereby the President can make temporary appointments without Senate approval ( Read more... )

Actually, what Bush did isn't that devious...it's been done since George Washington appointed a senile guy as Chief Justice....of course, since Reagan took over, the GOP has done is a lot more than they should--especially considering the GOP got control of Congress in the nineties for the first time in like 70 years. Bush has actually used the recess appt. about 100 times in 6 years, and his dad used it more than that in 4 years...I know Clinton used it at least once because the Republicans refused to vote on someone who was openly gay...cause, you know, according to the GOP, fags can't do jobs as good as the rest of us ( ... )
