Repurposed Post

Okay, this journal is now a lurking and/or commenting account - never going to post anything here, so move along, move along.

...

IGNORE ME!

You know, I just don't get the Japanese at times, and by Japanese, I mean Japanese Fandom. Of course, the only exposure to Japanese fandom I get is through Pixiv, and while there are a ton of awesome stuff in Pixiv, there are also rather... strange things going on.

Like, for LocoRoco fanart, why a sort-of popular personification of Budzi (the black one) is a bald man who looks like Agent Smith. I'm just expecting him to pop out of my screen and say something like "You humans are a virus, and I am the cure." Okay, personifying things can be a very hit or miss thing. Look at this Chikorita anthromorphic personification, for instance. But there are good fanarts of personificational LocoRocos, like some awesome ones of all of them which has somehow led to me absolutely fangirling Chavez's (green) song.

And, just what is with the fanart of Hetalia characters doing various aerobic things? While searching for one of my favourite Hetalia groups, the Baltics (Lithuania, Estonia and Laaatviaaa), I came across at least two fanarts of them holding positions. And I'm pretty sure I've seen this kind of thing on Deviant Art as well. I mean, wut. I know, your kink is not my kink, but Google Translate doesn't tell me anything about why!

And on that note, Google Translate is an awesome toy. Look at the quotes it gives me from various Pixiv descriptions.

- "Can I come to Chi Yokkura suicide?"
-"I like dying."

- "There is so yesterday."

- "'the challenges and escape from reality'" Love this one.

- "I'm old but I thought, what, I'm Ray"

Yeeah. But lul. Any translation program can be very lulzy, and Google Translate very much so.

And yeees, I am obsessing over LocoRoco at the moment. And Hetalia. I actually found a crossover fanart of them, which sparked the fangirl in me big time.
