Hi, my name's Amelia. I really like your photos and you have interesting entries, etc. I'd like to add you, if you please, and you can add me back if you want.
hello Christina! it was lovely meeting you at the Speakeasy last night. Thanks for taking my picture with your special photgraphers eye. I've added your journal and you photo journal. Please stop by and say hello sometime ;) peace. ~ Carolina
I was directed here by fishcat :) She told me to check out your LJ and said that you would probably not mind telling me about Oregon since you live there and I am considering moving there.
May I add you to my journal as a friend? Your posts seem interesting too.
I was looking at different cities... see I am a massage therapist and very into natural health and am vegitarian. I am also into Buddhism and Yoga and Shamanism and want a place that supports that as well. I am also getting my Masters in Religion and Philosophy with a concentration in Eastern religions and philosophies and want a place where I can potentially teach. And I used to be very involved in acting and would like to act locally at some of the theatres around the town, etc.
So I am very into culture, the arts, education, natural health, spirituality.. a place that supports that. I also love the mountains and lakes and the ocean.
So I was told Oregon was perfect for me. I have looked up Eugene and Corvallis and Portland and Ashland ... Bend, I was told I'd like Bend.
I grew up in Eugene and lived in Bend a bit when I was younger, but no place has embraced me like Ashland. I love living here (although I may move to Portland). Ashland is a small community with many healers, teachers, health food stores etc. It is beautiful, too.
I am not very fond of Bend, but I am more of a forest, stream, mountain sort of person than a high desert landscape and Bend is in the high desert. I need more water and green life than Bend has. Some people love the desert and find Bend to be wonderful.
Eugene is beautiful, though a bit cynical and people tend to be less friendly there than Ashland or Portland from my experiences.
I guess it will depend on how you feel in each of these places. Portland seems to have the most opportunity due to its size and openness and that is why I may move there. My close friends live there, too, so that draws me.
