I just signed the petition and emailed Wyden. I just saw "Sicko" this weekend, and it's yet another reason I am embarassed to be a U.S. citizen. Seriously WTF?! I don't even understand my medical bills and I am lucky enough to have insurance. Yikes!
I thought it was great that the movie focused on people who have insurance. This country is driven by greed and overall has lost any compassion or sense of decency it may have had at one time. The US is ran like a corporation and the American people are the disguardable employees.
The insurance companies are what fund the bond market, which fund our mortgage loans and banks. It is one big fucked up family.
Yeah, even though some people might not appreciate Michael Moore's style the facts themselves are just embarassing about U.S. healthcare. Fuck. It's GOT to change. Thanks for posting this.
Our mutual friend Dave (Voicetrack) has told me to get ahold of you regarding absinthe. He said you may have some information regarding the legality of it and how to obtain it. Thanks! =)

Hi :) The ban in Absinthe was lifted in the US May of this year. To my knowledge there is only one kind being manufactured here commercially right now. It is called Lucid. It is only available to restaurants and clubs, mostly in New York. I'm not sure it can be ordered yet on the internet by people.
The US imposes a guideline that Absinthe manufactured or sold here cannot contain more than 10mg of Thujone (the naturally occurring compound from Wormwood after which Absinthe is named) BUT because Absinthe is not "regulated" it is perfectly legal to buy Absinthe from other countries regardless of their Thujone content for personal consumption.
So, I purchased 2 different kinds from Absinthe24.net. The shipping was $65, but they got here in 7 days, in perfect shape and the Absinthe was amazing. I bought a Swiss kind - The Green Angel and a German kind Reve Lucide (my favorite).
I will order from that website again when I buy more. :)
