A dear friend's away message offered the choice, and I have to say, without reserve, that I would choose Love over life anyday. Without Love, life is empty, but Love continues far beyond death. An aquaintance of mine wrote all men were born to naturally hate. I believe this is untrue, and I believe hate comes an unnatural to us as the concept of love. With that, the only truth that comes to us is existence and death. Love and hate are merely two attitudes we adopt. At the most basic level, love for the grass beneath our feet and hate for the sun that kills the grass, and yet, these are both conscious (very fast) thoughts. And because of this, we can reject hate and embrace love, and with this comes the greatest of life - that of being loved, perhaps.
