“Waaa~ Yabu, I’m so bored,” Takaki whined as he slumped down on the empty seat beside the said boy.
Yabu sighed and put his pen on his manuscript book. He looked at the younger boy. “Am I your only source of amusement?” Yabu asked.
“Yeah,” Takaki answered.
“Look, Takaki, we’re graduating from Kitagawa Music Academy this year,” Yabu said. “Instead of fooling around, why don’t you compose the song you’re using for graduation?”
Takaki pouted. “But I have no inspiration.” Yabu just shook his head and continued writing his song.
When Yabu ignored him, Takaki had a new idea. He started tapping his fingers on the table. That annoyed Yabu very much.
“BAKAKI, STOP IT!” Yabu yelled.
Takaki smirked. He knew he caught Yabu’s attention now. Yabu put his pen on the table, hard. He glared at Takaki. “Tell me what I have to do so you will stop bothering me.”
“Amuse me,” Takaki answered.
“I’m not so sure about that, Takaki,” Inoo, who just came, said. He sat on the other side of Takaki. “I don’t think Shoon will be thrilled.” He put his head on the table and groaned. Yabu and Takaki looked at him.
“Tough day?” Yabu asked. Inoo answered with a groan.
“Mr. Chiaki practically made me went through a hell of training,” Inoo said.
Takaki laughed. “You ARE Kitagawa’s Music Academy’s pride from the piano division.”
Yabu chuckled as well. “Mr. Chiaki really wanted you to win.” He imitated Mr. Chiaki’s voice. “You, Inoo Kei, have to keep Kitagawa’s Music Academy title as the winner for the Annual Musical Concour.”
“Can’t they let Shoon do it this year?”
“They did,” Shoon, who just came, said. He slipped his bag on the chair and sat next to Yabu.
“Hey,” Yabu greeted his lover. Shoon gave him a kiss on the lips.
“Did Mrs. Fuji drilled you hard?” Inoo asked.
“Don’t ask,” Shoon said.
Takaki laughed. “I pitied both of you.”
“Actually, it should be the other way round,” Yabu said.
“Ouch, that hurts, Yabu,” Takaki said. Inoo, Shoon and Yabu laughed. Soon, Takaki joined in.
Takaki, Inoo, Shoon and Yabu had been childhood friends, along with Yaotome Hikaru. The five of them were also connected through family ties. They attended the most prestigious music academy in Tokyo, called Kitagawa Music Academy. It was an all-boys academy.
Kitagawa Music and Dance Academy was found by Johnny Kitagawa; a very successful musician himself. That academy was known to produce successful artists, both in the modern and classical category.
Yabu Kota and Takaki Yuya are third year students in the singing and dance division, while Inoo Kei is a third year student in the piano division and Yamashita Shoon is a fourth year student in the string division.

A big limousine stopped in front of Kitagawa Music and Dance Academy. A boy, 19 years of age, went out of the limo. He looked into the limo. There was another teen, the same age as him, sitting staring out the limousine’s window.
“We’re here,” he said.
---------------------------------
“Ah!” Yabu said when he realized the time.
“What is it?” Shoon asked.
“I was supposed to go to the principal’s office at 3 p.m.,” Yabu said, standing up.
Takaki stopped poking the sleeping Inoo. “Why?”
“Two new transfer students are coming,” Yabu said. “As the student council presidents, I have to show them to their room.”
“Oh,” Takaki said.
Shoon stood up. “I need to be off too,” he said. “Orchestra practice will be starting soon.”
“Both of you are leaving me alone?” Takaki whined.
“Well, you seemed to have fun disturbing Inoo’s sleep,” Yabu said. Shoon put his hand around Yabu’s waist and said to the Takaki, “See you later.” Then, he and Yabu walked off to their destination. Takaki sighed and started drawing on Inoo’s face.
------------------------------------
“It’s an honor to have both of you here,” Johnny Kitagawa said to the two teens sitting in front of him. “Okamoto-kun, your father had graduated from this school and know he is one of the famous pianist in Europe and Japan.”
“Yes,” 19 year-old Okamoto Keito replied.
“Starting from today, we will train you to be a successful musician,” Johnny said. Then, he looked at the teen sitting beside Keito. “And we will make the singing and dancing prodigy a great artist.”
Before Keito could say anything, the teen said, “I will determine my own future, Kitagawa-san.” He stood up and left the office.
Keito slightly bowed at the principal. “Kitagawa-sensei, I apologize for his behavior. He is after all, a prodigy with lots of ego.”
“That is understandable,” Johnny said.
---------------------------------------
On his way to the principal’s office, Yabu almost bumped into a teen who he had never seen before.
“Sumimasen,” Yabu said, but the teen didn’t even stop to acknowledge Yabu’s presence. ‘I wonder who it is,’ he thought. When he arrived to the principal’s office, Yabu knocked on the door.
“Come in,” Johnny Kitagawa said from inside. Yabu entered. He looked at Keito but didn’t say anything.
“Okamoto-kun, this is Yabu Kota, the student council’s president,” Johnny said. He looked at Yabu. “This is Okamoto Keito, who just transferred from England. Please show his to his room.”
“Hai,” Yabu said. Then, he asked, “Kitagawa-sensei, I thought there were supposed to be two transferred students?”
“Don’t worry about him,” Keito answered. “He went for a little walk.”
“Ah~” Yabu said.
“Yabu-kun, I’ll leave the rest to you,” Johnny said.
“Hai,” Yabu said. Then, he and Keito bowed at the principal.
-------------------------------------------
“So, Okamoto-kun, what division are you in?” Yabu asked as they walked towards the dorm room.
“Piano division,” Keito answered, “and please, call me Okamoto.”
“Alright,” Yabu said. After 10 minutes, they arrived in front a room. “From now on, this will be your room. Your luggage should be here by now.” He gave the key to Keito. “Your roommate is Yaotome Hikaru. If there’s anything you need, just look for me. My room is a few doors from here.”
“Arigatou,” Keito said, and bowed at Yabu. Yabu bowed back before he left Keito.
---------------------------------------------
“I’m bored,” Takaki whined for the nth thousand times. After drawing on Inoo’s face for a while, he began to feel bored again. So, he decided to take a walk, leaving the sleeping Inoo alone in the students’ lounge.
While he was walking around the academy’s garden, he heard a voice so angelic, he actually stopped walking. Takaki thought, ‘I’ve never heard anyone sing like that. Who is he?’
Yamete yamete mou,
Boku de asobanaide,
Furachi na shoudou sasowareteru.
Takaki knew he’s getting closer because the voice is getting louder. But suddenly, Takaki stepped on a twig. Takaki cursed himself when the person stopped singing. Before Takaki could see who that person was, he had already disappeared.
