     "Ramen!"

"Sushi!"

"Ramen!"

"Sushi!"

"Ramen!"

Hikaru's and Takaki's bicker continues on as they walked the streets of Sapporo. Yamada rolled his eyes at the two childish adults. 'How did I end up following them anyway?' Yamada thought. He recalled the event set earlier that morning.

The second stage of the competition had just ended yesterday evening. That morning, Yamada walked to the lobby of the hotel, with an intention in his mind, 'Do some reading.' Unfortunately, Takaki and Hikaru spotted him.

"Yama-chan!"

Yamada's vein twitched. 'Yama-chan?' Surprisingly, it had been Hikaru who shouted that. With his usual masked expression, he faced his two seniors.

"Yama-chan, Takaki and I are going to tour Sapporo," Hikaru said. "Let's go together."

Yamada's vein twitched again, but he let it pass. "I have a book to finish."

Takaki whined. "Come on, it's not everyday we get to visit Sapporo."

"What makes you think I want to visit Sapporo, especially with you two?"

"Come on, this will be...uh...senpai-kouhai bonding."

"Kotowaru," Yamada said in a flat tone.

Without a warning, Takaki went close to him, their nose only an inch away. Yamada could feel his heart thumping fast, although he didn't know the reason for it. "Yama-chan, come on, just once?"

Surprisingly, Yamada wasn't annoyed that Takaki had called him by that nickname. Before he knew it, 'Yes' came out of his mouth.

"Yatta!" Hikaru smacked Takaki's back. "Now let us have a tour in Sapporo!!!"

Yamada mentally smacked himself. 'How did I get into this mess?'

Yamada sighed, Takaki's and Hikaru's bickering could still be heard. 'Just pick one already!' Yamada wanted to yell at them, but he kept his cool head. Suddenly, when they passed a
cafe, he saw someone very familiar, working in that cafe. He pushed pass Hikaru and Takaki, and entered the cafe. When he was inside, Yamada looked around but that person was no longer there.

"You should have told us if you want to go to a cafe instead, Yama-chan," Hikaru said.

"Hajimemashite," a waitress in maid outfit said. "Would you like a table for three?"

"Ii-..."

"Hai, arigatou," Takaki cut in.

Yamada looked at Takaki with a raised eyebrow. "You wanted ramen didn't you?"

"We're already here, so cakes it shall be," Takaki said.

------------------------------------------

"Morimoto-kun, watch out," one of the waitress there said, but her warning was too late.

Ryutaro had tripped and crashed into a waiter who was carrying a tray of drinks. At that time, Hikaru, Takaki and Yamada were walking at the opposite direction, on their way to an empty table. Yamada was the unfortunate one to be closest to the waiter that Ryutaro knocked into.

"Gomenasai!" the waiter apologized bowing at Yamada. Yamada's clothes was wet because the drinks fell on him.

"Gomenasai!" Ryutaro bowed as well.

Yamada looked at his shirt. Then, he glared at Ryutaro and stalked off. Both Hikaru and Takaki looked at Ryutaro apologetically.

"Gomen for our kouhai's behaviour," they said.

Ryutaro shook his head. "No, I'm the one at fault."

Hikaru asked, "So, you're here alone?"

"It seems so," Ryutaro replied. "Actually, I'm waiting for my friend to finish his shift."

"If that's the case, why don't you join us?"

At first, Ryutaro was hesitant, but soon he agreed. "Sure," he said, taking his clarinet with him.

"You're a music student?" Takaki asked as soon as ey settled down.

"I'm in my school's orchestra," Ryutaro answered. "And I just sent my application to Kitagawa Music Academy too," he added in excitedly. Then, he blushed. "Sorry for suddenly telling you all of this."

Hikaru chuckled. "It's okay. We're actually students from Kitagawa Academy as well."

Ryutaro's jaw dropped. "So that means...the person that I just-..."

"Yup," Hikaru cut in. "He's our junior, but you won't see much of him, or us, if you enter the academy since we're in the Music and Dance division. After Takaki and Hkaru had ordered their drinks, Ryutaro told the waiter, "Honoo-san, can you tel Yuto that I'll be waiting for him here?" Takaki was taken aback when Ryutaro mentioned Yuto's name but he managed to hid it well.

"D-Did you say Yuto?" a voice asked from behind.

"Y-Yeah," said Ryutaro. Hikaru, Takaki and Ryutaro were more taken aback by the emotion in Yamada's eyes; surprise? Yamada looked pale, as if he just saw a ghost. Realizing what he was doing, Yamada once again put up his cold mask.

"Forget what I've said," Yamada immediately left the cafe.

"Takaki, wait up!" Hikaru exclaimed when Takaki immediately ran after Yamada. He took out the money to pay for their drinks in a rush. "I hope you'll get into the academy."

"Thanks," Ryutaro said as Hikaru ran off.

IN THE KITCHEN

"Hey, Yuto," the waiter, Honoo, said to Yuto, whose keeping himself busy in the kitchen. "If you're done hiding, Ryutaro is waiting for you outside."

"Yeah," Yuto replied. 'I never thought I'd see him again, not here, at least.'

----------------------------------------------

Inoo closed his eyes, his fingers playing Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 with precise timing, and perfect finger movements. His body moves with the flow. Memories started to fill his head as he played.

FLASHBACK

In a large ballroom, there was a big, white grand piano. 7 year-old Inoo Kei was playing the piano; his chibi fingers playing 'Merry Christmas' messily.

"Kei-chan, Kei-chan, Kei-chan," 7 year-old Hikaru in white sailor suit ran into the ballroom. He went behind Inoo. "Are you busy?"

"No, just playing around," Inoo said, playing Fur Elise.

"I was chosen! I was chosen!" he said. "I was chosen for the Winter Recital."

Inoo stopped playing and looked at his best friend. "That's great!" he smiled widely.

"And you'll be accompanying me, right?" he looked at Inoo with a wide smile and big eyes. For some reason, it made Inoo's face red.

"S-Sure."

"I heard you were playing Merry Christmas," Hikaru said. "Let's play together."

Inoo nodded his head happily. "I would love that," he said. His fingers went to its position and he began playing Merry Christmas. This time, he didn't play as sloppily as before. Hikaru accompanied him by singing.

"Hika-chan, you were great!" Inoo complimented.

Hikaru blushed slightly. "You were great too, Kei-chan!"

"Na-ah!" Inoo protested. "You were greater!"

Suddenly, Hikaru glomped Inoo. "We were both great," he said.

Inoo laughed, "Hai~!" A tint of blush visible on his cheeks.

"Hikaru-sama, your ride is here to take you home," one of Inoo's maid said.

"Awwe," Hikaru muttered. "But I still want to play with you."

"We'll play some other time then," Inoo said.

Chibi Hikaru winked. "It's a date." Inoo's cheeks turned a dark shade of red.

END OF FLASHBACK
Inoo was taken out of his flashback when he accidentally pressed the wrong key.

"It seems like there's a lot in your mind."

It startled Inoo when someone suddenly talked. Inoo relaxed after he identified who that person was. "What are you doing here?" Inoo asked.

"You're supposed to be accompanying me, remember?" Shoon said.

"Oh yeah."

"So, what were you thinking about?" Shoon went to his position next to Inoo, his violin in his hand. Shoon added in, "And don't say 'it's nothing' either because I know it's not nothing or else you would have played Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 perfectly."

Inoo sighed. "Shoon, why are you so wise?"

"Because I'm older than you," he smirked.

"Only by two years," Inoo muttered under his breath.

Shoon heard it and chuckled. "We'll talk about this later," Shoon said.

"Oh no we won't."

"Oh yes we will," Shoon retort. "But now, we have to practice for the Winter Performance."

Inoo chuckled as well. "Alright, alright. Let's practice; Etude in E major by Chopin."

-----------------------------------

"Arioka-san!" Fugaya-sensei yelled. "Your breathing is uneven. Where did your stamina go?"

"Gomen, Fugaya-sensei," Daiki apologized. "Let me try again."

Daiki was about to blow his clarinet again when Fugaya-sensei said, "Stop! There's no use for you to continue."

Daiki put down his clarinet. "But sensei...I can prac-..."

"Practice is not your problem, my boy," said the teacher. "Your stamina is."

"Sensei..."

"Now, I want you to go outside and run ten laps around the garden."

"W-What?" Daiki looked at his teacher unbelievably. "But...it's noon!" Fugaya-sensei gave Daiki a 'not-my-problem' look. Daiki sighed. "I know, I know." Daiki kept his clarinet into its case. "Arigatou sensei," Daiki said before exiting the classroom.

------------------------------------

Daiki panted, "Five more lapse to go." He wiped the sweat on his forehead. "Man, Fugaya-sensei is right. I've been lacking some workouts."

'Of course, Dai-chan ish a lazybum.'

Daiki stopped running. He looked up at the sky, the cloud covering the sun, and the afternoon breeze blew calmly. 'Why am I remembering the things that he said?'

-------------------------------------

"Yuto, something funny happened today," Ryutaro said to Yuto. They were walking home together.

"Eh? How weird?"

"Remember the ruckus at the cafe?" Ryutaro said.

"The one that Honoo-kun spilled the drinks on?"

Ryutaro winced. "Yeah, that one."

"What about him?" Yuto tried to keep a straight face.

Ryutaro shrugged. "I don't know. It's just that, when he heard your name, he looked surprised."

Ryutaro didn't realize that Yuto had stopped walking. 'Of course he would,' Yuto thought.
