Summary: An accident leads to a depressed Yamada.
Yamada lay on his bed, staring into space in a daze. He felt numb, ignoring his surrounding. Everything was white, his room, his curtnains. It was silent, the only thing that could be heard was the beeping sound of his monitor and his breathing.
Everything happened so fast, he thought. He wondered if he had done things differently, the outcome would be different. He wondered if he had done things differently, he could save his right hand.
Anger filled his heart. Clenching his left hand, he hit his fist on his bed. Anger, sorrow and regret combined causing tears to run down his cheeks. Frustration took over as he tried again and again to move his right hand.
Yamada desperately wanted it to move again. The hand that caressed Chinen’s hair, Chinen’s lips. The hand that cupped Chinen’s face, touched Chinen’s body. Yamada screamed and screamed as his hand still refused to move.
The nurses stormed into the room when they heard the ruckus. Yamada tried to struggle when one of the nurses tried to give him sedative. It took four nurses to hold down the struggling Yamada. The nurses sighed, looking at the sleeping Yamada in pity.
Chinen’s heart clenched to see Yamada in that state. Ever since the accident, Chinen had came to visit his boyfriend at the hospital every evening, after classes. From bright and joyful, Yamada had turned into an empty shell. Everyday it was the same. Yamada would either sit or lay on his bed, and stare into nothingness.
A hand on his shoulder caused Chinen to snapped out of his thought. He turned to see a nurse looking at him with a sad smile. She knew about his relationship with Yamada. She nodded towards the room. “You should enter.”
Chinen replied with a nod, his hand turning the doorknob. He let out a deep breath. All these years, Yamada had been his strength, even before they started dating. Now, it’s Chinen’s turn to do the same.
Oblivious to his surrounding, Yamada didn’t realize the presence of another person in his room. He continued to drown into his sorrows until he felt a pair of arms wrapping itself around him from behind. He tried to ignore Chinen, just like every other day during Chinen’s visit. Today was different however. It crushed Yamada’s heart when Chinen rested his head at the crook of his shoulder. It crushed him when Chinen spoke, voice full of sadness, but still with hope.
“Please, let me in again, Ryosuke,” Chinen whispered in his ear. “I’ll always be by your side, I will never leave you so please, let me inside your heart once more.”
Yamada’s breath hithced, a lump forming in his throat. Tears started welling in his eyes as Chinen hugged him tighter. “Please?” Chinen’s whispered. And that was all it took for Yamada to open up to Chinen again. Chinen moved in front of Yamada and cupped his face. “Ryosuke, I don’t care if you can’t caress me anymore, or touch me because all I ever need is you.”
Yamada nodded, tears running down his cheeks. “I love you, Yuri.” With that, Chinen lightly pressed his lips against Yamada’s.
