Hello, this is more of a response to your response to me. I totally agree with you about Angels and Demons being a better book. I think The Di Vinci Code has such hype around it because it is much more controversial. It must be difficult working that much and going to school at the same time. Good luck with that. See you in class on friday!
Hi YARA! Well yea just wanted to drop and and say Hi!...and yeah comment you =) i can totally relate to you on the whole school and work thing...it takes up a lot of my time!! Hopefully i'll be able to manage school and work and bills all okay. Ever since i moved down here i haven't been able to do the things i enjoy doing. I used to hang out with a bunch of friends and kick it too...go clubbin and grub at the end of the night..but for now it's all about school. I wanna be able to have the will-power for success ykno...like you...you wanna finish up and accomplish your dreams. I wish you the greatest luck on that and hope things go the way you want it to...anywhoo take cares and see you in class!!!
PS~ about the whole burger thing...heheh yeah i dont eat them...when i was little my older cousins used to corrupt my mind with scary nasty things and i dunno to make the long story short...my mentality towards burgers isn't very pleasurable...just even lookin at a burger grosses me out i dunno...sad huh....
Nice intro. I hope CSULA treats you well. They have a great student population- very diverse and very driven (b/c most work and lack time for social activities). Have you considered applying for a job as a TA in a local school? (maybe even Marshall) Seeing teaching from the inside out (or from the bottom up) can be rewarding beyond measure to your career and identity. The pay should be enough to get you through school. More importantly, the job may allow you to get your "foot in the door" of a school or district that you are interested in serving.
Thanks...at first I wasn't sure what to say in my intro. Actually, I have been considering a TA job for a few months now. I was waiting until June to quit my current job so that my manager could have time to hire and train new people to take on my responsibilities. I looked into the requirements for the position in both LAUSD and GUSD. I have friends in both districts and they say their schools are looking for TAs. I need to take some tests and see what happens from there. The thing is, I don't have the best gpa around. I'm still paying for my big mess up at UCR. But I'm not giving up on school, even if it takes me longer than others, I will finish. I feel like the tortoise, "slow and steady wins the race."
