Wish I was someone's someone. I mean, there's the affiliative and there's the possessive, y'know? The Native Americans had no possessive tense for land and so were disadvantaged in real estate deals. It's a weakness of our language that it's not immediately obvious to us that "my wife" and "my child" don't imply possession any more than "my dentist" or "my religion."
