A too-brief summary. It took all weekend, didn't it?

Despite getting off early on Friday, we didn't get out for a long time, and almost didn't go to Lonely Mountain at all -- Honey got some good news, and it was hard to leave! But the LIW tip waits for no man, and we drove north in good time. Everyone says Lonely Mountain Defender is the best event of the year -- the gorgeous scenery (like a more- ( Read more... )

Thanks much, Lady M! And I have now had a chance to review history. Dragon's Mist was my old shire, and Seth's creepy ex got it in the divorce. I don't wonder that your reception seemed chilly, and I wish you luck finding the fun folk! I think there are loads of groovy people, but the weather can make them hard to find. Have you ever been to the Barony of Atenveldt fighter practice while visiting AZ? It's bigger than many events in the known world, and it happens every Wednesday -- it's really something. And hey, are you going to the Artemisian anniversary? I'm betting not (northern Utah; hello!) but there's always a chance, isn't there? (Random thoughts.) Hope you are still enjoying the Pacific Northwest, and that all is well up your way!

I used to play in AZ, so yeah, I've been to Barony of Atenveldt. Huge! I'm not going to Artemisian anniversary, though it would be fun. I have friends who are going, though.

I am having a great time. :-) What's Seth's creepy ex's name? If you care to share, I mean.

Ah, I'm glad you know what I mean about BofA -- it rather blew my mind. I'm not going to Artemisian anniversary either, unfort, but at least I won't miss you again ( ... )

Lady, you must visit Oregon! All the lovely things I mentioned, plus lush, mossy waterfalls...ferny, mossy glades...a glorious cool ocean...and mist, mist, mist! (Sorry; I love mist.) It's a place that loves a queen, and every season is a whole new deck for an Empress. The moon there is stronger than the sun, which never freckled me (much less burned me) the whole time I was there. You MUST at least visit.

Sounds glorious! Elk! So jealous, I haven't seen any majestic critters since New England. Not to mention real trees. Sigh.

Hearty congrats on the AoA, Lady. Extremely nifty!

Glorious it was -- we'll be camping there (a la mundane) sometime. Jemez (town of? Pueblo of?), just down the road, has hot springs and a public bathhouse -- just the thing after roughing it.

And thanks for the congrats! I can no longer use the line, "I'm not a lady, but I can do a passable imitation if need be."
