Sick. As. A. Dog. -- I don't know what this is, but I hate it. Yesterday I returned to work after two days' absence and left after a couple of hours to go to the Urgent Care (which is, somewhat paradoxically, beyond the outskirts of town and in an empty field. Ah, true! Some people hate the PNW winters only because the sky is dark for months (wasn't a problem for me, though there was never that brilliant sun-on-snow moment) and the damp cold of rain makes the joints ache more.

I'm not arthritic, myself, and not having to shovel rain or freak out about loved ones driving on icy roads made a world of difference. I never hated the rainy winters, never! They don't know how good they have it.
