Making Christmas

Dec 11, 2004 14:39

Has been awhile since I posted, not really much to say. Have been busy, seems like I'm mostly busy spinning my wheels. At least it feels that way, sigh , too many things not under my controll that I'm waiting to see which way they will fall. Also feels like not much money again this year, thats ok. It gives me an excuse to do what I wanted to do ( Read more... )

I totally agree.

I also will be making all the gifts I am giving this year.
(money is way too tight)

I love making things with my hands.
and I hope that the extra effort is appreciated.

the extra effort also means that I give to the people who mean the most to me.
time is short this year as well.

I think my mom still has the x-mas ornaments my sister and I made her when we were kids.
as you said, embarassing but heart-warming as well.

Yeah that makes me feel better. I think I would still make things even if I was rich, I just wouldn't worry about the cost of materials so much.

I feel that way too. I look back at all of the things I made for my mom over the yaers and even though I laugh at how silly they look it makes me feel wonderful because she kept them for so long (we're talking stuff from kindergarten!) ^^
I'm making as many gifts as I can this year- though sometimes there just isn't enough time ::laughs:: I should learn to start early.

Wish I had more time too! Not too mention more materials or maybe just the right materials, lol lord knows the craft room is overflowing. Its finding the right stuff in there that is a problem.

yeah, I always love getting the ornaments etc from you Renee. When I went through christmas stuff to take some of it with me...ornaments you made were definitely taken with me. I had a short discussion about how I love things like that because when I get them out and hang them on the tree you always think of that person. I noted that there have been other presents that I received and really loved, but too often after a time I cannot remember who got it for me etc...but I always seem to remember who made what for me. Definitely something a lot more enjoyable. hehe and especially from the kids! :) Thanks for helping them / encouraging them with all of those things during the day Renee. It is one of those things I like best about you watching my kids! Love ya mom!

Love you too! I always try to think of just the right picture for each ornament, glad you took them with you. Your reply means alot to me. Thanks seems a silly word, barely adequate but my thanks to you for your thoughts.
