Oh Ugly Betty, how I love you

Not sure why I loved Thursday's ep so much, but I did.  For one thing, Claire really moved me a couple times.  First her joy at her child being alive totally out weighing anything else and then her talks with Betty.  It was so unexpectedly touching.  One thing I love about this show is how even though they're often over the top the characters are ( Read more... )

Thursday's Ugly Betty was just all kinds of awesome, which was good b/c last weeks ep left me feeling kinda meh, and I don't like feeling that way about an episode of UB.

But yeah, thank god Walter's finally out of the picture. He only ever annoyed me, and I've wanted his ass gone for a long time.

But how did you know Yolanda from VM? I remember seeing her in one other thing, but I can't think of what it was.

She plays Nico on UB. She wasn't in this week's ep but something about it jogged my memory (because I watched that ep going "I know her..." the whole time and it was driving me nuts)

RIGHT! Duh. The fact that we're talking about UB and the fact that she is ON UB should have jogged my memory. I'm a little slow today :/

I really enjoyed the episode too and thank god Walter is gone - ugh! I just adore Betty though..and you're right about the scenes with Claire and the dimension of the characters. It's so refreshing to see a show that's creative but tends to its characters nearly every episode.

I've just gotten into VM and can I just say the writing is brilliant. Why is this show so under appreciated???

I'm also just getting into VM--watching DVD's of S1 at present and am similarly enthralled. I love that quippy dialog, it's totally my kinda thing.

Yeah the dialogue is fantastic...reminds me a bit of Joss Whedon's style meets the Gilmore Girls with a bit more snark and bite :)
