The firelight flickers and slides over the smooth surfaces, reflecting again and again into infinity.
One voice, split between two people, climbs into the night, reaching out into the dark without fear of what it might find. The guitar’s twang is a warm embrace on a cool night, its melody burning brighter than the flames.
It’s a rare moment of tranquility, one each man wishes would go on forever; one each man fears they may never feel again.
They huddle together in their stolen moment, singing out loud, praying in silence.
