I think so...I change him before every feeding and before and after naps....using prefolds and washing every three days, so that's about...hmmmm 8-10 a day?
I know that chances are I'm just super paranoid. Edward wasn't a normal pooper but I figured that was cause he always had a little formula. I figured John would do the normal poop with every feeding thing and we'd be fine. He did that the first week, occasionally. Also, his last two poops were super runny and greenish rather than seedy yellow that we saw the first week. Sigh.
I was think about this a lot while nursing last night. I don't know if I'll ever truly trust myself and my ability to nurse. Which is sad because I freaken nursed Edward for 2 years. But everything with a newborn feels like I'm doing something wrong. I need to talk to the doctor about how he underminded my confidence in something that shouldn't be undermined. He is a great medical doctor, but he isn't a great breastfeeding doctor.
You're going to go to the BFing group that you found, right? I think that will help ease your mind a lot! I still get moments of anxiety about it at 7.5 months (is she still gaining, is my supply still okay?, etc) and find the group to be perfect. Lots of other moms with advice, LCs and at least at ours, we WI every week. Plus, they'll let you do a post feed weigh too.

Andrew's poops run anywhere from yellow to green.... My kids tend to poop a ton, but I know of other breastfed babies who go days w/o pooping...
Newborns can really shake your confidence -- But you are doing great ;)
