I grab an armful (picking out dh's stuff because he's too damn picky and always leaves pens in his work shirts), throw 'em in, wash on cold and hope for the best. If there's something new I think might bleed, like a red shirt, I'll do a seperate load of reds for that, and once in awhile I do just towels on hot. Sheets take up a load themselves, and are always washed on hot. Same with diapers.
I sort lights(white & tan), darks(colored and dark colors), towels and sheets. Also wash T and my work clothes seperate b/c his have oil on them and mine are germy (hospital). I do a lot of laundry!
i was thinking of posting the VERY SAME QUESTION recently!
i am down to 4 categories... lights (whites/light khakis/grays & pale yellows), reds (pink/purple/orange/red), mediums (blues/greens/dark khakis/medium grays) and darks. Towels/sheets seperate... Evan does those.
Let me guess, dh wants to do 2 categories? That's E's philosophy. Whites and everything else.
