Wow.
Wow.
But if it's really happening, wouldn't there have been spoilers? I mean, there have been rumors about Ten regenerating for a while now, but nothing solid. And, as far as I know, nothing about who will play Eleven.
And considering the spoilers about Donna... Would they really do that in the same episode as a regeneration?
Come to think of it, would they put a regeneration in the penultimate episode of the season instead of the end of the finale?
And Tennant being signed up for specials... But they could be flashbacks, couldn't they? There could be timey-wimeyness.
The thing is, they could have Eleven be played by Tennant. If Romana could choose what her regeneration looked like, anything's possible. Ten has his severed hand onhand (Pun intended. I regret nothing.), it's not inconceivable that he could use it as a DNA reference and mimic his previous regeneration. They could even stop the regeneration. I don't know how. Maybe Rose still has some of the power of Bad Wolf.
This is RTD. The man who brought us Tinkerbell Doctor. Anything is possible. And the more I think about it, the more likely it seems that Ten will stay.
But the thing is...
If this is a real, proper regeneration, it's the biggest surprise that Doctor Who has given me in years.
And unless they do something extraordinary, really extraordinarily fantastic, something really mind-blowing, Tennant staying will feel like a cop-out.
I imagine the Tennant fans would be okay with that. But me?
