So apparently, Laurence Fishburne will try to fill the gap when William Peterson (Grissom) leaves the show towards the middle of next season. But his character won't replace Grissom per se as he won't be the team's new boss. So are they replacing Grissom or not?! *scratches head*

Anyway... normally I wouldn't really care about this as I don't even ( Read more... )

That does kind of sound like Dexter.

I agree with you, but unfortunately there hardly seems to be an original concept on television anymore that's why I have HBO and Showtime to try and catch something fresh and new.

I have never seen an episode of CSI or Law and Order. Didn't both of those shows franchise and have like 18 different versions of the same thing? Since CSI steals from itself, apparently they have no problem stealing from Showtime's Dexter. Truly so much of TV and movies is so derivative I can hardly stand it.

Just think how many movies are from books, other movies, comic books, TV shows? That is why a couple of gems like Juno and the prior year's Little Miss Sunshine were so good, they were fresh.

Sorry to get on my soapbox in your journal, but I got to typing and I just kept going and going. I guess that I can close by saying, yeah, what you said. :)

You are so very lucky... There's still no way of getting either one of those channels here in Canada. We do have all the major networks but they won't let us anywhere near the US specialty channels, which I think is ridiculous. It would be a great opportunity for the cable companies here to make even more money.

They have 3 different versions each, although Law & Order almost had 4 at some point but "Trial by Jury" only lasted one season. But seriously, who would want to watch a trial for an entire hour? I would fall asleep after 15 minutes. To me that's usually the dullest part of the show so no, thank you very much.

*rolls eyes* TPTB just have to jump on the latest fad/wandwagon and beat any fresh idea to death.

But then, I fully admit I'm shallow, and what little TV I watch, I watch for the pretty.
