So I've been checking out a couple of people's top 10 list and now I'm in the mood to yak about mine, especially as I haven't posted in forever.

Hee. Around... half on this list are sports-themed. May I recommend Ookiku Furikabutte? It's a baseball manga that's just now being adapted into anime. The main character - the ace pitcher of the team, you could say - has considerable skill but has no confidence whatsoever. From what I know of the storyline so far, the team's focusing on helping him solve his self-confidence issues. The characters all have room to grow and improve, and they have their kickass moments. I thought that it might be to your taste, since it has several elements that you emphasized on this list.

Oooh, thanks! I used to love "Touch" and it'll be interesting to see other baseball shows!

Sadly there's only 3 episodes subbed so far. T_T The manga's farther along, though, so you could look for it.

I've seen the DVDs before but I never actually watched it. Now that someone recced it though, I think I'll try and see if I can get a copy.

And don't worry, I know how it feels to realize that our tastes can run to things that are not necessarily wildly popular. But we all watch anime for fun right? ^_~
