She watches him sleep, alone in his bed, a carefree smile on his face. She wonders what he's dreaming about. A simple touch could look into his mind, she could see for herself - but somehow she prefers to wonder, prefers the mystery ( Read more... )

He's back in his own bed now, leaving Lorne to be protected by Parrish. His sleeping mind plays over the conversation they'd had earlier.

Cal no matter what happens I want you to know this, I love you. I love you more than anything in these two galaxies. I will do anything to get back to you. To stay with you. Nothing will hold me back, I'll always come back home.

I will try everything to get back to you Cal. You're my everything

Even in sleep, the memory makes him smile, extends a feeling of peace and love throughout his entire body. He rolls over, instinctively reaching for Nick, finding soft pillows instead. Somewhere, down deep, he registers that that's not right, he frowns but a soft voice is there to comfort and touch him. Calvin, love, I'm here, it'll all be alright..., Nick, he thinks before sleep claims him again.

She glows softly as he calms and goes back to sleep, pleased that it had worked, that for once she'd been able to reach him. He hadn't realised it was her, and she's a little annoyed by that, but she suppresses it quickly; she loves him, and he loves her too, he only needs to realize it.

She waits for morning, watching patiently until he wakes up.

He awakes slowly, surprised he's beat the alarm. He reaches for his glasses on the bedside table so he can check the time. Not finding anything, he moves him arm around in a more erractic pattern. It takes him a moment to realise that the bed is larger, softer, than when he went to sleep. Opening his eyes in a panic, he looks around. Taking in the cheesy 'romance-novel' furnishings. He's confused at first but then relaxes, smiling.

"You know, Nick, if you wanted to get me away you could have just said." He laughed, amazed that coming from Nick this didn't annoy him. "And if you've damaged your ankle any further organising this, I will not be amused." He talked to the room at large, sure his lover could hear him.

Atlantis watches him wake, pulling back the curtains to let light stream in through the windows.

Awake, love? she asks. No, Nick's not here, it's just you and me...

He tries to struggle against her, his arms still bound. He kicks wildly, sure he connects with at least a few of them. She acts completely unaffected. Soon his legs are held too.

He hates the betrayal he feels from his body, giving her what she wants. Validating what she's doing to him. Implied consent. Tears fall unchecked across his cheeks.

He retreats into himself. More so than before. It's not as hard as he might have imagined to remove himself from this space. To just lie back and let her do what she will with nothing more than an occasional whimper.

She feels him kick her, enjoying the sensation of pain - something she can't experience in her city form. Wouldn't do to let him hurt her, though - she ties his legs down, holding him immobile.

She senses him withdraw, and touches her consciousness to his, stronger than she has since that night on the tower, not just reading him this time but controlling, pulling his awareness back to the present. "Look at me," she commands.

His attention secured, she runs her fingers lightly over his face, down his neck, across his chest, before grabbing him by the shoulders tightly and taking his hard cock into her.

"Love me, baby," she says, looking at him, forcing him to meet her eyes, overwhelming him.

He can feel her invading his mind as she invades his body. In the same way, he is powerless to resist her. She brings him back, forces him to feel her both physically and emotionally. He's struck by the intensity and genuineness of her feelings. It occurs to him that maybe he can use that connection. He clears his mind as much as possible and thinks directly at her. Atlantis, baby, I know you're hurting. I know you've been alone. You're not anymore. We're all here for you. I know what you need. I want to give it to you, but please. Not like this. He's not sure if his words are having any effect but her touches become more gentle. More like caresses than attacks. He lets go of a breath he wasn't aware he was holding, thinking maybe the worst was over. Then she slams into him. Setting off pleasure centres, his system is flooded with a mixture of endorphins and testosterone, over the underlying adrenaline. Physiology taking over. He involuntarily arches into her, pushing himself deeper ( ... )

His words catch up to her, not as quickly as he says them, but she does hear. She looks into his eyes, seeing nothing, not even pain -

"Gods, what have I done, love?" she asks, trailing a gentle finger down his cheek, following the path a tear would, if he'd been crying. "What have I done to you, what's wrong with me?" Her eyes are still locked on his, but now she's broadcasting her own fear, not trying to overwhelm him.

She scrambles away from him, picking up her dress and tugging it back on, and collapses in the corner of the room, hugging her knees. The straps release, leaving his wrists and ankles free. Help - he needs help, they both need help -

She catches a hint of a thought in his mind, a desperate don't let him see me like this. Not Nick - no - but there was the other, he would help...

She's too caught up in her emotions to find an individual mind, so she broadcasts to anyone that can hear her. David, he needs you, please, he needs you here...And then, she looks for the one mind that she doesn't need to find, that ( ... )

John's mind is assaulted by frantic denial, fear, pain--pleas to keep her safe, not to leave her alone--pleas to make it all better again. His heart breaks under the onslaught, and his mind nearly does as well...her emotions are painful in their strength and clarity--even when she's not suffering. But this...this is more than he can bear.

He completely wraps his Atlantis in his arms, burying her tear-damp face in the damp fabric of his shirt. Words are useless--words can't fix her--words can't tell her he won't leave her ever again--even if he says them. Words are empty and formless--but actions--actions she can believe in.

they left you, they were weak...but you know me..you *know* me, and I won't ever leave you.

He tips her head back and kisses her cheeks, soft and alive and such a marvel

Atlantis clings to his reassurances, trusting his promise against all reason - her creators had abandoned her against their own wills, what made John any safer? But he promised, and she believes him...

"How do I keep messing up so badly?" she asks, the spoken words making her seem purely human, not the powerful city she normally is. "Why can't I just get it right? Why can't I just let him be?"

((did Toni tell you my thoughts on Atlantis/this plotline? This not having a computer thing sucks...))

John cradles her, still pressing kisses to her cheeks and forehead. Her voice is lyrical, soft, exactly the voice he'd always imagined in his head--and somehow hearing it makes her more real. He is awed by that for a moment, one large, sunbronzed hand against her pale cheek. She's real and here..unless he's finally snapped, which is so an option at this point too.

I-I don't know....I don't pretend to understand anything about you--about us. We live with you, we love you and you love us...other than that, I can't explain any of this...maybe he reminds you of someone...one of the ones you loved before, who left you.

(( nooo I hadn't heard! But it all sounds quite good--just bring her back to what she was...it'll be easier on you, and we can pop her out occasionally for bigger things if we like ))

"I'm a mystery even to myself," she admits with a laugh. "I was supposed to be intelligent, but not independent...they never knew why, they noticed sometimes, I wasn't like the other cities, but..."

She snuggles closer into his arms. "But with you, I don't need to wonder why. When you're here, I can just accept it, just let the moment be what it is..."

((I love playing Atlantis, and honestly she's probably my favorite of my characters, but she doesn't fit - it's too easy to have her take things over, dominate the entire thing, and that wouldn't be right. I think I'd rather keep her kinda quietly there in the background and put more energy into developing Liz and Katie...and good Gods, I just realized my characters have the two most common names from my high school. Seriously, we had 5 Liz's and 6 Katies in a class of 50...))
