So yesterday was probably one of the most hectic days I have had in a while. I don't know long it will take to explain it so I will just oblige the general public with a cut.
My weekend started off with me working so late on Friday night as to require a ride home from Brenton, then having to wake up at the crack of dawn the next morning. I got up late and only really had 20 min to get dressed, pack clothing, and gather my home work stuff. Lawrence and I then drove back to NO and I got dropped off at my house. Probably the only time to ever be home without having to socialize with my parents because all I did was walk in and get right to getting ready to be picked up by Jean. She made it to my house around 12 and we went in search of Lindsey's shower party.
After getting a bit turned around in Harahan we finally figured out which way we were headed and found the house. Amanda was already there, so we sat with her and talked for quite a while. Then came the present opening. I don't think I have ever seen Lindsey turn that many shades of pink in so little time. I guess that's what happens when you ask for your family to shop for you as well. :D When she was done turning pink there were some games and most awesome cake, after which the three of us cut out. Amanda had work and Jean and I were going to Michael's for some art supplies. Nothing is worse than having to spend over $40 on things, but hopefully I will have some good work to show for it.
After getting back home I was only able to sit and chill for an hour before having to get ready to go to Brother Martin. Arrived right on time and immediately started to set up. There were two reunions going on at the same time and I volunteered to work for the larger of the two b/c it didn't involve mixing drinks. I will not lie here, I don't know the first think about mixing a good drink, so I copped out and went the route of just pouring soft drinks and wine, and opening beers. Never have I seen so many drunk old people together in one place. The quote of the night was "These people drink more than catholic fish!" It was freaken' hilarious! There was even a guy there who resembled the man with the red stapler from Office Space. Truly magical, and well paying. It ended up being more interesting and fun than I thought (plus I got to drink whatever we were serving as well), so if I get asked to help out again next year, I'm deffinitly going to take them up on it.
Got back late from the day's festivities and had to get up at 9 this morning to leave again. Did the whole drive to H'burg and do lunch with Stuart and the parental units, and now I am at work. Yay work ::FEEL the sarcasm:: After which I have to go pick up my bike from the art building and see if Carrie is back. Hope that everyone is having a good end o' the weekend. Later!
