Poor thing! I am glad that it got rescued by Radagast, even though I would not have been glad to meet its mother in the forest when she was alive.

Tolkien seems to differentiate between wolves (naturally predators but not evil) and wargs, but I wonder if most men would have or could have made the distinction between the two. But I think that even if the cub was a warg, Radagast would have wanted to help it. I wonder what happened to the wargs after Sauron fell. Did they die or did they revert to their former nature, becoming ordinary wolves? Also the wargs in "The Hobbit" are different from the ones in LOTR so either Tolkien changed his mind about them or there were more than one kind.
