What types of things are you looking to get involved in?

I'm pretty open minded at this point... I am especially interested in things dealing with music, and have had no luck with the local community ensembles thus far. I made a brief attempt at getting involved in a Milwaukee BDSM group, but that went nowhere really fast. Otherwise I guess, I'm a gamer geek, so things with videogames.. anime.. Things that could make me think. And as I said, not afraid to try new activities, just looking to get out there and be more active.

The things I do regularly these days are bum around at home, certain social events which we already talked about (don't like going into them with this lj account), a couple tabletop rpgs in menomonee falls, and do laundry. :)

The tabletop rpgs are at Fortress Games, a game store in menomonee falls. Would you like me to check to see if there are any games in need of players? Both the games I'm in are pretty full, though these things can change sometimes.

The only problem I see with me joining games like that is that I am still basically a total newbie. So any gaming group I played with would need to be very understanding of the fact that I am a moron. That's why so far I've just been playing with a couple friends, very, very sporadically. I'm afraid I'd be more of a hidrance than asset to any decent group.

I am a bit interested in some of the other social events we discussed via IM, despite the moderately bad view I got of it from my small attempt. If you have any pointers in that regard, please either catch me on IM, or you can email me at bassyrs@yahoo.com

Thanks!

I would imagine that you would be able to guess my suggestion...but I will give it to you anyway.

You could always drive to Milwaukee or Madison and get involved in a film club there -- both cities have adequate access to art cinema. Look for local shops that cater to your interests and make inquiries with the individuals who run said shops about groups, etc.

The best way to learn about something is to ask the people who might be involved. :-) Good luck.

*hugs*

What exactly does a film club do? Maybe that's a dumb question, but I've never heard of one. Heh.

Basically, you get together, watch a movie, and then discuss -- it's a way to dicuss the themes of the film with someone who can process it at a level deeper than, "It sucked...".

Considering how analytical you are, I think you would have no trouble at all with disecting a film.
