Pheasant is doing pretty well today. I actually saw her drink some water this morning, which is a huge relief. She is quite chipper and energetic, which just amazes me. I'm wondering...the wound is so very impressive, that the scope can only really be understood by seeing it. I also don't want to gross anyone out. Would you folks be interested in seeing a picture? Behind a cut tag, of course.

So far, so good. Pheasant still lives and is pretty perky all things considered. Every time we remove the bandages, she hurries to groom her feathers while she has the opportunity. She tries, a little, to groom the bandages, but fortunately does not worry them too much. So far, I've been very glad to see her leave the injuries alone ( Read more... )

Ah what a lovely weekend. Nope, not talking about the weather, since from my perspective it was mostly way too hot and sunny. Instead, I am tired and sore and very happy. I worked at least one horse every day this weekend, including Friday.
