Lovely fic, dear, and not that bad for the lack of a beta. You might want to add in extra lines of space between the paragraphing, though, as that makes it harder to read (and exacerbates the songficness, argh!).

My favourite part was definitely the last few paragraphs. The list of dates, and what he does and doesn't do on them. Oh, that was a tiny bit shiver-inducing. I loved it.

Hello. You don't know me. At all. But I'm a friend of Yeti's, and I ended up here through her.

I just wanted to say (after building up a lot of courage to comment)great fic! I'm not a great fan of song-fic, but you used the lyrics superbly, and towards the end, the general agnsty-ness of it just kept punching me in the gut.

Wow, I *never* read songfic, and you really hooked me here. Your first paragraph showed such insight into the Marauders as a group, how they functioned together. Really agree with the commenter who mentioned the anniversaries paragraph, too--so moving!

This line made me tear up: days where he'd turn around and see a shock of messy black hair, a flash of brilliant green eyes, a pudgy little boy, an elegant scowl - he'd simply bite his lip and stop himself half way through calling out a name.

Thank you! I never write songfic, so I guess it's a first for both of us. But I'm glad you liked it, I wrote it in a *very* short amount of time and usually I agonize and edit forever, so it's nice to know this worked.
