It is my opinion that he needs to be smacked with a smelly wet fish in both the past and in the end of Rou.

I'm still expecting some sort of "lolol oh man see Rou was just a continuous long goddamn dream showing Watanuki what NOT to EVER do."
I bet Clamp were just like "hey guis we need to end holic supafast to start Gate 7 properly, let's just tack on this rage-inducing scenario where Watanuki keeps getting glimpses of this stupid allegorical dream thing and suddenly, whoa, 100 years later."
So much disappoint, son, so much disappoint.

tbh "Rou was just a dream all in all" would almost help the case because y'know, it'd make place for more interesting stuff. We all have to settle with the truth, though. >(
