I was away from LJ for years, and then returned in late 2014 and got stuck. It's not dead, but people have moved around and regrouped, so most of my old freinds seemed to have gone. But I've found a lot of new ones and find I have such a busy f-list I have trouble keeping up.

it's a bit confusing coming back to it, the layout, everything. I've become more used to facebook so I was even looking for a "like" button lol

You may want to try a friending frenzy to find new people. I can't recall ever seen one when I was active before, but have found them a nifty tool for finding people with common interest. A friend of mine is running one now:
