My goal for this year was to limit yarn purchases because my stash is huge. I have purchased yarn but I don't feel guilty at all. In fact I have mostly been purchasing cotton. I have seen some excellent deals on cotton but I'm waiting for a color(s) I like because they are the 1 lb factory end bags. I purchase a bag of unbleached cotton and I used ( Read more... )

Whenever I have some extra money I buy the wooden straight needles from Peacefleece.com. I also like those Lion Brand needles, too, though.

I stopped buying yarn for a bit because I need to spin what I have and make my own, plus I have 3 boxes, 5 large bags, and a cute little yarn thingie my grandmother left me.

Those little needles do come in handy for all sorts of things, you are right.

I have been using AC Moore 40-50% off coupons to buy each set of DPN. I have the link posted on my profile page.

I have about 4 plastic tubs, 2 baskets, a couple repurposed gift bags and a small basket full of yarn.

I've decided to give myself spinning lesson(s) for my LTS graduation gift.

Great! Will you buy a wheel or rent one? The Hitchhiker Wheel is a terrific value, you can even spin in your car, and fits anywhere. It also makes great yarn.

I have over 30 pounds of fleece, wool and alpaca, so I really need to get to work and make some yarn.

I use an electric Babe spinner which is also wonderful and compact. I do have a large 250 year-old Saxony wheel, but I don't think I'll be able to spin on it. However, it is a beautiful decoration in the dining room.

Oh yeah....Babe wheels are fantastic, too. They may not look "traditional", but they are excellent wheels. Many people start out on a Babe and then later buy the more expensive "traditional-looking" ones. I think the site is babesfibergarden.com. Their customer service is terrific, too. We asked them a question and they replied immediately and even offered to call us and walk us through our question - no charge.

Oh, enough about that......get your god-damned degree!

I have no idea. It depends on finances. I suppose I'll sort it out once I have some hands-on experience. Thanks for the suggestions.

Did you read my buttonhole post? Tell me what you think.
