I finally finished the cotton bath mat that I posted about here. I'm really happy with the result even though the pictures make it look a bit wonky.

Homespun
Knitting with homespun was no problem but it unravels easily and I've found in the last few months since making the prayer shawl that it does not wear well. I've been accused of being a yarn purist before (worsted yarns v. novelty yarns) but I think there is something to be said for having your crafts last through wear and tear. Interweave Spring 2008 Preview
I may have to breakdown and finally get a subscription. Here is the 2008 Spring preview. Several patterns listed are interesting but I am enamored of this Flutter Sleeve Cardigan. Not to mention, the model is totally adorable! -
Furry
Evidently those two skeins of burgundy yarn are a bust because they are seriously furry. Every inch or so I have to pull fur off. This is both annoying and slowing down my knitting rhythm. I recently had another skein that was like that. It didn't get better as I went along either. I live with 5 cats and those were all really old skeins of yarn. ( Read more... )
