We sent letters detailing our experiences, and firmly requesting compensation, and didn't even get a response - it was the lack of contact I found the worst part.
EDF have at least been friendly, easy to contact (Southern Electric involved sitting on a phone for ~20 mins - EDF is pretty much instant unless it's lunchtime) and kept their word so far (even if there is a bit of a left-hand vs right-hand problem) - the real verdict will be whether they turn up for the appointment that I'll have been waiting three months to make.
May consider British Gas at a later date. What are their prices like by comparison?
I hope you manage to get it sorted. It is so frustrating! Last week I got an electricity bill for £900 rom British Gas when it should have been £50! I had to spend 20 minutes on the phone to them trying to sort it out and it costs extra on my mobile to ring their number! Aargh! x
