but, i know Lady Dreamtime and RainKing took a cruise...their review on it was pretty good...you'd have to check with her to get the URL for it though...
in so far as kiddos go...WHOOOOOO man do i know how that is! i used to get called daily from the school to either talk to him in the principal's office, or to come get him...it was so frustrating for us both...but, they moved him into a new classroom, and it's like he's a totally different kiddo...
of course, when i used to ask him what he did at school, his response used to be "Played with my friends, didn't hit."
Don't feel like an ass for saying that to her. She needs to know there are consequences to every decision she makes. Good or bad, but something still happens. She needs to know she can't just walk in and out as she pleases. I've had to do the same thing, twice actually. It doesn't get any easier the more you do it, but people do have to take responsibility for their actions.
Why not let her go "visit" for a week and then let her make her decision. Since it's obviously going to be a major decision for a 15 y/o to make. Other things to consider are do her mom and her mom's b/f really want her to live there with them? i think 15 is old enough to understand her decisions will have consequences. And i don't think it's "unreasonable" to say "once you make this decision you will have to live with it." Afterall, it's just a few years and she'll have to start making life decisions like what college to attend, what major to take and whether or not to go to college.
It's been YEARS since i've been on a cruise. It can be a fabulous fun time. i'd love to go on another but it'll have to wait a bit more yet.

Although Lady Dreamtime and I had a great time on both of our cruises, I have a hard time imagining having fun on one by myself. The only other people on board are (a) people aged 60 and up who are finally using that retirement savings and (b) young couples on honeymoons, most of which will not want to leave their cabin, let alone socialize with strangers. The main things to do on a cruise are eating and gambling, so you'd better really, really like one of those two. There are ports of call, but the boat usually doesn't stay docked long enough to do more than one of the "excursion" things. Overall, you still spend 80% of the time on the boat itself.
Of course, that can be fun if you have the right friends and/or lovers along. But that can be said of many things.
