So it's fashion week! I am held captive by the speed with which pics I can jump on the back of get posted - so looks like late tonight or sometime tomorrow for the episode discussion

When I was little, my brother was all, "close your eyes and stick out your tongue." And then he poured garlic powder on my tongue. I still didn't learn and fell for it a second time - raw liver. I think I was probably 7 or 8. Fun times!
Why the fawning over Amanda's? The sheer bit looks like a robe Blanche Deveraux would wear over a nightgown while making some sort of dramatic declaration along the lines of "Daddy said to never trust a man who drinks off-brand whiskey! Oh, Dorothy, what should I do?"
This show just continues to be a big ole time-suck.
Yeah, my brothers were pretty good - we all protected each other from our parents, so there was really none of the sibling crap in our house. At least, not after my sister got over the fact that I wasn't going to be an obedient younger sister who let her brush her hair and dress her up and boss her around. (She's still trying but now it's an affectionate game.) I'm sorry your brother was mean, that's pretty normal though, isn't it?
Ugh, Amanda, I'm totally with Zac. I understand that Heidi and Nina are just so happy to see something different that they're giving her way more credit than she deserves. It's still hard to watch.
I loved Korina's overcoat. That Northwestern/Southerwestern native aesthetic really could be my next big fashion thing. Or maybe I'll just move to New Mexico.
My older sister and I wrangled a lot, especially since I, as the baby, was a bit of a spoiled brat. I teased her and she seldom reciprocated, but when she did, it was a doozie - e.g. I swallowed Jello once and she swore it was going to harden in my stomach and kill me. Among other meanie things! But nothing physical, and we were actually quite close, even in our wrangling days, because of our shared divorce/bad stepparent traumas.
Yeah, I know what you mean about the shared trauma!parents. Kids in functional families don't get how the nightmare of crazy parents can make defense systems between siblings way more important than petty squabbling. OTOH, I never got along with my older brother and I haven't spoken to him since my dad's funeral four years ago (which he showed up to announcing how happy he was that the man died. He has issues).
Frankly I was surprised at how RELATIVELY good were most of the dresses. Even Amanda's was not as bad as some of her previous creations. I too liked Korina's red coat-dress, but in her private interviews, she was wearing a similar red coat, with what seemed like southwest-ish designs, so I'm not clear how ORIGINAL was her creation. I'll save the rest of my oh-so-relevant comments till later.
That doll looks like an insane clown, and I have never liked clowns - they are always a bit scary. There was an insane clown in the movie Poltergeist that tried to choke one of the children. Eee, that was creepy.
I hate clowns! When I was a kid, they were always at the mall my parents took me to, and they'd run up, get right in your face, and start screaming about balloon animals. Just, no.
The only clown I ever liked was Pennywise the Clown, because he seems to embody the true nature of clowns, IMO.
Yeah, I was pleased by this runway as well. The worst that could be said was that Samantha's was boring and Alexander's was overly worked and not harmonious with the necklace. Well, Amanda's was ugly and crazy and that belt sucked, but of course the judges loved it. Except for Zac. To be expected at this point.
I was the mean sibling (oldest sister of two sisters and one brother) so no mean sibling story from me. However, I did traumatize my youngest son. His two older brothers, aged 8 and 11, were watching Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds," with a friend. I did not grab John (aged 5) and snatch him away from the TV. Scared him silly.
In fact, now that I think about it, the whole family cooperated in traumatizing John. There was the time when, age 3, he became terrified of elephants.... FanSee
I'm following bits and pieces of this FW in NYC around the interweb ATM but so far I have no idea which one of this season's PR contestants made it there so don't worry, I won't tell ;) and besides so far I'm actually having quite a difficult time deciding who might get there anyway apart from Sean, maybe. (sorry I don't mean to sound bitchy, I'm just saying
( ... )
Yep, I agree, this episode was pretty good, relatively speaking.
I loved the coat! You and I have very different tastes, y/y? I hated the necklace, though, but for all of the designs, that one went with the outfit best.
I didn't mind amanda's so much, but I didn't get how a skin-tight cat suit can be considered elegant red carpet evening wear. Although Amanda sure as hell knows how to appeal to Heidi's taste.
You and I have very different tastes, y/y? I guess we do to some extent but then to Quote Zac- that's the beauty of fashion, right? ;) Plus It's not that I ADORED Amanda's garment it's just that it was surprisingly different and on trend with that sheer over garment.
Last night I was happy with the win. Korina's look reminded me of what Janelle Monae wore to the Met Gala. Sean's was good because it showcased the jewelry.
Amanda continues to be overpraised. That outfit was hiddy.
Lucky you with the sibs! I get along great with 2 of the 3 sibs now.
I usually go and look at all the decoy collections after teh show is over. I was happy because the judges actually talked about how the outfits went with the jewelry. It was a good show overall.
Amanda is definitely overpraised. Yes, she's somewhat different, but not in a good way.
Just went and checked out JM Met Gala outfit and recall taht one now - I really liked that as well, but her design was more paisley. Still same concept of coat and color, though. I loved her hair style, too.

I love Pennywise too, but because he's Tim Curry.

My sister was the mean sibling but she didn't really mean it - more like a bossy thing. She's fabulous as an adult. She's still totally bossy, tho.
