I looked at the pictures before reading anything and I didn't get that it was all about the jewellery. Oh well.

I totally utterly covet the coat Korina made. Not the dress, but the coat. Wants it!! And at first I liked the necklace because its design seemed to fit the pattern of the coat exactly - then I read your comment, zoomed in and saw that it was all pearls or whatever. Not that great. Anyway, I do understand coat and necklace together.

Fäde's dress is the only one I'd wear.

And Amanda's is so ugly it looks like kids playing dress up with left-over stuff from the attic. Here a bit, there a bit. It's not edgy, it's eager-beavery. (Sorry, I can't think of the right word. Like she's a know-it-all poser.)

I love Korina's coat! Yeah, the dress was a bit heavy/much, but the coat is gorgeous, and I'm huge into that Southwestern pattern.

Fade's dress was good as usual - just not really striking.

I have no idea why Nina and Heidi liked Amanda's outfit. You're right - it's hideous. You nailed it: she's a know-it-all poser

I rewatched this episode today. Looking at what was made I really see where the limited time factor came into play. This time the product placement actually matched the challenge. The Met Gala is a swanky, serious affair. This year they were celebrating the works of Charles James ( ... )

Yeah, I agree that Sandhyi really stepped it up for this one.

Sandhya had mad this dress floor length, it would have gotten my vote for a top look

You and I agree on that, definitely. I agree with the Fade assessment, too, the cut was nice but it was wrong for the context.

It's impossible for the viewer to get past the bra with Kini's. You're definitely right - it's a golden globes look (once he improved the outfit's globes, of course!).

I thought Amanda's was really sleazy looking and Zac totally hit it on the head with "worst dressed list." Why are the producers manipulating favor for Amanda? I seriously do not get it. Everyone on every blog - including Nick on the LT blog - was scratching their heads on why this was in the favored column.

And, yes to the rest of your assessments. More time would have produced a much, much better runway.

We went to the punk one, and I think you went to the McQueen one with Aimee.

Nina's "it looks ethnic" re: Korina's made me snort.

The judges are on crack.

I liked Fade's skirt, but the top was too basic.

Was the punk one where we had to walk through the park? OH! No, I think I went to that exhibit with my mother. I'm going to have to ask her. Bleh, after the migraine assault in the last few months focused in the last two weeks and the trip to the ER, my brain is just not functioning.

Totally agree with your assessment of Fade's look.

The judges are on crack.

Yup.

Next week I will jot down my thoughts right after watching the show so I can write my post in a timely fashion. This time, I waited too long and can hardly remember anything about it. I do know that I was pleasantly surprised that most designs were pretty good.

Even Amanda's looked interesting, but I just cannot stand that woman. Her superior attitude lends credence to the feeling that she was pre-chosen as a finalist, and she is aware of it.

I loved Fade's dress but it was not glamourous enough for a red carpet. Alexander's was a hot mess, the fabric overworked and messy. Sandyha's was a glorified tea dress, IMO. I liked Sean's the best, and was okay with the winning red coat dress. Samantha's was an easy auf, just too simple and plain. The others were just okay.

Meh,I thought Amanda's look was just cracked out, but I guess it's a taste thing.

I loved Fade's dress but it was not glamourous enough for a red carpet.

Yep, the back was interesting, but his and Sandhya's were just too casual.

We've been saying this for a while - they need more time.

Chopard!!??!!

I always thought of them as Versace or Roberto Cavalli of jewelry ... high end but often bad taste and over the top. Case in point Amanda's choice...pink stones and hearts ewww ewww ewww.
But with Heidi as executive producer, I am not surprised. It is very shiny!!!

Actually liked most of the jewelry, even Korina's. It was definitely a statement piece. The issue with jewelry like that, is that it is so over the top it looks like costume jewelry. Why would you pay hundreds of thousands for the real thing, that you are only going to wear for special occasions, when you can get the same look for a few hundreds for high fashion costume pieces.

The clothes were good this time and the winner and looser chosen appropriately. Just a thought about Fade's look... think it lost a lot of impact because his model is so flat chested. The top of that design needed more boobs, or at least fit her better. It looked like a tween trying on mom's dress.

Hey, as someone half German, I understand the shiny. I walk past jewelry store windows and it's like a magnet - "ooooooooh SHINY!" But I know that it's kind of tacky!

And yeah, Chopard. When I saw the jewelry I practically laughed. Gaudy much?

I didn't like Korina's jewels, but I really loved Alexander's and Kini's.

I agreed about Fade's model needing more boobs! I was thinking just that - it would definitely have given the look oomph.
