So I’m ready to see how things go this week - I kind of want to see Char knock it out of the park because I just don’t care about the other designers. Go Char, give me a reason to believe!
I've hit the wall and the rest of this season will just be a slog for me.
Yep, when Char didn't deliver that was it for me. For me tho, it's less hitting the wall and more a slow dissipating of interest, but we pretty much have arrived at the same place, I think. Slog to the end. I don't really care about anyone. Wasn't Emily's FW runway awful?
A month. Why are this doing this? It just makes the whole show kind of steaming crap, and what's the point of that?
Out of this lot the only looks I really liked were Sean's white look and Kini's red re-purposed dress.
I see why everyone likes Sean's - I find that kind of fashion boring, but that's neither here nor there. I get the appeal. Totally yes agreed on the Kini red dress.
I like the idea of Char's pink skirt and I like Emily's look minus that hooded jacketI actually liked Emily's street look as a whole, if she would join that divided back and then gave the pajamas a pair of pant-like things instead (again, grey instead of that crazy print would have been much better). I agree
( ... )
My issue with Emily's jacket is it was nothing new. That sort of street style has been around since the 80's. Where's the updating. I liked Sean's look because he too his inspiration and updated it for woman's fashion. If I can go to the mall right now and buy it, it's not what I'm expecting from a fashion show. Jessica Simpson's show was about ready to wear. Once upon a time PR was about fashion. I should be over it, but I miss that.
I seriously don't think I can take another season of this dreck.
All the clothes that were even halfway decent looked off-the-rack to me. Where has fashion gone at PR? Remember the early years and some of the absolute magic a few of the designers created? The only "fashion" I saw in this episode was Kini's coat. A purple skirt with flaps and a pocket? A baggie muumuu with color blocking? A white uniform for a fashionable nurse in Milan? And a HOODIE?
Just - no. The judges really ARE on crack - or actually, they are just on the payroll.
Yes, Korina is a selfish spoil-sport, but I am convinced this was all a set-up to push her over the edge, for even more painful drama. I'm sure she realized it too, thus she walked away. Honestly, I can't bring myself to completely blame her.

I'm always hoping whenever I start watching a new season that someone interesting comes out of it. Nobody this season tho.
Where has fashion gone at PR?
OMG I wish I could tell you!
I am convinced this was all a set-up to push her over the edge, for even more painful dramaEven if that weren't true, the fact that it COULD be true speaks volumes

I really do think having the winning designers interviewed about how much of a jerk Korina is, was just all kinds of horrible. There was just no need for the audience, after being shown an overemotional Korina hang herself on camera (and actually pull herself together enough to STFU and just get out of there), to be told by the remaining designers that we all should hate on her. It was embarrassing to watch all that. OMG YES!!! That was especially low down and horrible.
First of all I do agree that it felt kinda awkward that they arrived to a 'NYC street challenge' in a Lexus but that wasn't even half of the weirdness that went on in this entire ep,imo ;)
Here's what I think- If the producers wanted to create that 'who will be the final three' cliff hanger vibe before FW they obviously failed miserably this time since we all KNEW right away that the person who gets the Tim Gunn save will end up in the top three four regradless. In fact the whole Char/Tim moment just before the Corina drama was quite forced and heavily manipulated because hey... wasn't Char going to sail through to FW no matter what anyway? That whole scene of Corina leaving the work room didn't do it for me. I mean... I assume the producers informed her ahead of time she might go back for the 're-do' segment after her elimination... she could have refused in the first place, right? But then I think Alexander was much better match to Char. I LOVED his snarky remark after Char gave him lots of mambo jambo instructions

I doubt they told her she was going to have to assist Char, because I suspect she would have outright refused. But maybe it's in the contract?
Luckily for her Emily's were far worst.
Yeah, I didn't think they were far worse, I think they were just not necessarily as interesting. But all things being equal, I actually liked Emily's hoodie/pajama look. Her really big mistake was having decided on a design before she even went out on the street... er, into the Lexus to drive down the street. Whatevs.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't remember if in previous seasons the judges had a 'last minute runway' in the studio before heading off to the Bryant park Well, two things: First, they've been doing that for the last couple seasons. I'm not sure if it's because they want to screw with the designers' heads, or if the designers have been so weak they need to give them

I assume the producers informed her ahead of time she might go back for the 're-do' segment after her elimination... she could have refused in the first place, right? She's still contractually obligated to the show. This was the next day after her being auf'd. We see it a week later, but they filmed it the next day. Korinna may have been prepared to assist another designer and thus only walked when hearing that it was Char she was to help. I'm pretty sure it was the helping Char that tipped her over the edge.

I'd like to believe that. I mean even the most manipulative producers could only go that far, right? But just to have Corina there was super awkward. I guess the producers (Tim being one of them...) thought they could milk the Corina situation to the last drop. I find the whole Char/Tim dynamic quite uncomfortable to watch ever since he saved her for the second time and maybe she (Char) had her reasons to be upset after Corina was Auf'd but the whole thing was down right annoying and had nothing to do with the initial premise of this show.

Emily didn't shine throughout the competition, iMO BUT at least She can sew, girlfriend SO IF Char didn't sail through to FW (beinf Tim's fav ) then it would have been Emily who should have given the chance to go to FW instead of Char, tbh.
they've been doing that for the last couple seasonsThey have? I don't remember them doing that last season but maybe it's because last season's

Oh, hey, as a total non-sequeter inspired by your icon - are you watching Dr. Who this season? I like the new doctor but I really can't stand Clara so I've sort of watched some of it. I'm hoping her romance signals her end. I do like the girl he picked up at the school last ep, but she seems a little young, maybe, for the next companion?
I most certainly am watching Doctor Who. Love Capaldi. He reminds me of the old Who Doctor's. The trouble with Clara is she was a bit of a Mary Sue until this season. She was "The Impossible Girl" but never a fleshed out character. This season the Doctor is a bit darker and they seem to be exploring the impact of traveling with the Doctor on a regular person. I honestly think the Doctor and Clara bring out the worst in each other. Ironically enough I kinda like Mr. Pink, but I'm not so sure he and Clara have the healthiest of relationships either. She didn't really care for him until she found out they were destined to marry. She continually lies to him and then he gives her an ultimatum when he finds out about the Doctor. I do like Courtney. She would be the youngest companion since Doctor 1's grand daughter Susan. Whatever, it's made for an interesting season. I am enjoying it immensely.
