I turn 30 in February and I think I'm going to have a kareoke night party I'd like to spend it with friends. Though going to the mountains and snuggling in front of a fireplace also sounds really nice.

I think you should go for the party. All else being equal, that way you get more presents.

Throw a big blow out with your friends where you can let the last of your youth be expressed. Your family will be happy to do something separate with you.
