Is it not possible, my lady, that some of the complaints may originate from a sense of helplessness? No doubt there are some who were in the midst of important work when brought here, and now they are held with nothing useful to do and no means of escape.
I am an advocate of pushing oneself, but pushing oneself towards what, precisely? This house is cruel. Let them complain. It is the only measure of control they have left.
Yes, that is correct, but people that are brought here still have their intellect and free-will to as they please. Having intellect to understand some of the things that have happened to them here, also, recalling past events could help people to understand what might have brought them here to a certain extent. Even though people have different adjustment times they still need to understand that change here is always something that will always arise here.
Toward becoming prepared for whatever the future may bring. Let them complain, of course, everyone has the right, but I think that people are not looking at this “event” or “curse” as they should; it’s easier than having to defeat undead in battle.

They're brought back to life somehow, but all this crap that's going on makes it seem like someone's just dragged us all here to screw with our heads.

That is the truth.
We have yet to figure out our purposes here, no one knows for sure.

Going through pain, infection, battle and death, oh yes, much more appealing.
