So everyone is all abuzz about Tokyopop closing down its US branch. That's definitely disappointing when you consider the handfull of staff that was still working there. However, I can't really say I've had an interest in a lot of books that they put out. That's not even considering the crappy contracts they gave a lot of their creators ( Read more... )

Good riddance Tokyopop. I hated them so bad - they were terrible for picking up titles that I liked (Loveless, Kyo Kara Maoh) and then doing nothing with the license. Maybe now Del Ray or Viz can pick up my fave titles and finish them.

From what everyone's saying, it looks like they were more interested in optioning properties for movies and stuff. Guess that didn't work out too well, huh?
