stupidity comes in all sizes & shapes

  • Y'all really do talk a lot! ;) A girl is away for a couple of days and there's pages & pages of stuff to catch up on. I'm really trying to be better, but it's hard!
I'm already beginning to feel the effects/realization of the fact that there's likely going to be nothing new starting next week, I guess. If NBC is pulling FNL and everything else ( Read more... )

My mom and I were talking a little bit about this last night. Both she and I [and you as I remember from our talks] are not ones to get behind labor disputes, unions, strikes, etc. However, we do feel that the Networks are stupid and should give the writers what they want. We don't get why it isn't over yet. Why they aren't remembering the last strike and how much it cost. There is plenty of money to be made by everyone - even by giving the writers what they want ( ... )

It's just stupid, really. I mean they write stuffit's delivered to an audience for profit, so they should get paid. Not hard to understand.

I'm finding all this very fascinating and exciting. I just wrote a small (and not very insightful) post about it. I just support them a 100%.

Seeing how the novelas are written by South American writers, and this strike concerns American writers, I'm sure Latin novelas won't be affected. I know the strike is not affecting the Canadian industry, so I don't see why it should affect the latin one.

This actually came up on the XF board, because of the movie. The Canadian Guild is backing the WGA, because many are dual members. They can only work on Canadian productions if they are living in Canada. My question is, do American shows/movies filming in Canada count as Canadian productions? If not, I am very nervous about the movie. (Since they can't tweak the script under the rules of the strike.)

I am so annoyed at the studios right now. I wish they would just give them what they want and let me have The Office back. (Plus, I really don't want a split Battlestar Galactica series 4.) Thank goodness I own a lot of TV on DVD, because I hate most "reality television". (Not to mention that a lot of that has guild writers working on their shows as well. DWTS was one of the relaity shows mentioned in an article I read.)

I don't want NBC/Universal to decide to shelve S4 till this thing is resolved. Which I'm worried about.

Oh, man. Are you trying to make me cry on a Friday night? What an even worse thought. I haven't heard about that option. I am already annoyed enough about the push back to April.

I do think I might use this as a chance to finally catch up with your FNL. I have only seen 2 episodes and I spent the summer hanging out with the Doctor. My one concern is that both times I have watched it, I ended up crying. Stupid sports shows.

Ohhh, you should! It is a show that makes you cry fairly regularly. But I don't mind one bit.

I spent the summer hanging out with the Doctor.

I've seen every ep that's aired in the US, it's one of those shows I enjoy but doesn't make much impression on me. I have very much enjoyed all the eps dealing with Rose's family.

Yeah. I hated Jackie at first, but now I miss her so much. At least as much as Rose, maybe even more. I have high hopes for the next series though.

I kinda loved her dad, not that I can remember his name. I know nothing about the new season, except I know there's a new companion.
