  • Have those of y'all that watch FNL watched the "Making of S1" feature on the dvds? Scott Porter beatboxing is made of win! So funny.
  • Changed my layout to something Christmasy, because it's cute and it got a bit cold here.
  • Did y'all know, this? Warning, FNL casting spoiler. Makes me happy. Yes, it does.

Pantherama
  • UGH with the PREVIOUSLIES!! Did that scene ever actually take place between Lyla & Santiago (is that his name)? I Don't remember it. I feel like I'm in S2.5-3 BSG
  • I'm feeling my Tim/Tyra shipper raising its head! HA! Yes, they remain my preferred teen pairing.
  • "You are not using our Lord, Jesus Christ, as an excuse...? I just LOVE Tami!
  • Yes, I'm malicious, but I kinda love Julie's angst, she deserves it. the new girlfriend is ewwww, however.
  • Buddy Garrity = giddy Laura! LOVE! Santiago living with Buddy is HILARIOUS! Oh, Buddy!
  • Have I mentioned lately that I ADORE MamaSmash? Cause I do, soooooo much.
  • Stripping Panthers w/o Tim seems wrong. He's such a stripping kinda guy.
  • I did LOVE his convo with Mindy about Devil Went Down to Georgia, hilarious! Teritorial stripping!
  • I'm slowly being won over by Carlota with Matt, it might mostly be because I so despise the *girlfriend*. But waht is Matt doing?? In general.
  • The journalism teacher, however creeps me out.
  • I'm officially in love with Santiago after this episode. The kid that plays him is quite good, and if we get blessed with a 3rd season, Smash, Tyra & Lyla, at least, will have all graduated. I think his could be a compelling story. He & Buddy could be fantastic together. A nice story of redemption. He could be what Buddy needs, a family & child that appreciate & love him; and Buddy could be what he needs, as well. He's kinda like Tim, in that I just want to give him a hug & tell him it will be better soon. My heart broke in that final scene, in a good way.
  • Oh, Tim. Run away! Fast! You've seen your future & it is full of ferret love!
  • Still, I really like Billy & Jackie together. I wish they could all sit down & work it out. Because it's not like Jackie & Tim were a great love match.
  • I ADORE Tyra Collette, and I loved seeing her in this episode. It felt like the wise crackin', take no prisoners character I fell in love with. Having her only really have scenes with Landry was a mistake.
  • LOVED the scene of Matt & Grandma with the car. So cute. I just adore them together. I could have done without Carlota there, however.
  • Ugh, to the preview! Hopefully this will be the end of that mess.
I LOVED this episode. Partially because of the concentration on my beloved Smash & lots of MamaSmash. I initially didn't like Smash, but fell in love with him through the 2nd 1/2 of the first season, I have really missed him this season. Gaius Charles is so wonderful.

One of the things I love most about this show is I can almost always understand where all the characters are coming from. I get what Smash is saying, he thinks he's looking out for his, and even his family's, future. He's always seen his future as football, so he's going to look for a school that will be high profile & is a feeder to the NFL. MamaSmash is doing the same. But she's a woman that has a college education, of some sort, and more life experience, as well. She sees the pitfalls. I think the traditional black college is unrealistic, however that doesn't mean there aren't very good schools, academically, that he can go to which also have excellent football programs. One is in Austin. My hope is that they listen to one another, and even Coach. One of Smash's greatest strengths is his mother and that he will listen to her and find a compromise that will satisfy her, and provide what he needs, as well. UT, UCLA, Stanford, Virginia, etc. Those schools do exist. She also needs to let him know, as only MamaSmash can, that he will be a disappointment to her if he is only an uneducated football/NFL star. I believe he will never want to truly disappoint his Mama. I think one of the things I loved most was it really felt like an extension of where these characters had been last season.
