I've been on and am on Celexa. It's worked wonderfully for me. There is a period at the beginning where they can make you drowsy and out of it but your body adjusts.
The thing to remember is to figure out 'why' you need them and find the one that works best for that problem.
I plan to talk the specifics out with my counselor, and see if I need to be referred to another therapist or a doctor. I'm trying to figure out why I've been so depressed lately (I've figured out part of it), and how best to deal with it.
Thanks so much for your insight. It is very much appreciated.
Good to know. Thanks very much. I know meds will probably help tone down my anxiety and mood-insanity, but I'm always kind of worried that they'll just numb me.
To me, after living my whole life in a weird mood roller coaster, it was like discovering I didn't have to feel that way, that I could feel okay after all.
Stuff like Zoloft and Wellbutrin are great mood stabilizers by the way (in my opinion). I took the meds for a while and I was like 'huh... I didn't freak out like I usually do!"
I'm on Effexor XR. I've been on it for *counts on fingers* about three years. It's a mix of adrenaline and seratonin. I was put on them because I used to get frequent anxiety attacks

I took Prozac and Klonopin about 8 yrs ago, for a little over a year. At first both were fine, and it helped me a bit. I still think Klonopin was a decent drug for the anxiety. Prozac, though, I would avoid like the plague. Ultimately it made things worse. I would not take another SSRI
