With the domestic spying and the unicameral government we now have, we have left the realms of democracy and entered into tyrany, absolute monarchy ("It's legal because I say it's legal") and dictatorship. With the administration ignoring the checks and balances that were put in place over 220 years ago, we have become the thing we most fear and despise. I also believe that the terrorists won. Our country is no longer a free country. We are now a frightened, limited and limiting realm. And yes, that last word was chosen specifically.

A George Carlin skit from the '70s talks about a guy in Washington who knew his phone was tapped and and answered it, "Fuck Hoover. Yes, go ahead." Sometimes my mom or I answer the phone that way when the other calls. For old times' sake it's touching to know that it's appropriate to answer the phone that way at home and at work.
