I just wanted to mention that I love, love, love baking. I love it. I could do it all day long, I think.

I don't know what it is. I just finished re-reading Gaudium et Spes, and it speaks a lot about culture. Culture, it says, flows from the principle that human beings were given the earth in order to help it flourish and to use it to help ( Read more... )

Oh no, I don't think it's silly at all to theologize baking. It all leads back to vocation. God gave us talents, and in using these talents and skills, we glorify Him. We glorify Him by becoming whole, complete human beings, becoming what He created us to be.

I can completely relate to the feeling of marvel over how culture and even things like baking can tie into our faith and be an integral part of who we are in our faith. How labor can fulfill us and help us to become more whole and to do God's Will. Man... that's one of the reasons why I love Catholicism so much.
