How sad. . .

Poor thing. :( For whom should I cheer now?? I'm so used to hating practically everyone else because I want her to win so badly. I can't suddenly start liking them!

And this is pretty cheap.

wow ~ if i start experiencing lags in my shipments, you can bet i'll cancel my service ~ i only opted in because it was cost-effective compared to regular renting. so far i haven't had a problem, but i do turn my movies around right away to maximize my rentals. if they spend 78¢ on every shipment to my house, they're making about $4 profit from me. hopefully that'll keep them satisfied.

i think it mostly affects people on the 3-fer plan because i can see how there'd be no profit with that many movies (i'm on the two-fer).

either way, i really despise this sort of thing.

Yeah, it felt really sad to see her pull out. Yesterday I watched her practice routine and saw her in tears, glancing to the cameras, and now in retrospect I know what was going on in her mind. :(

I was rooting for her to get the gold. I think I would root for the two kids in Meissner and Hughes just because it would be neat to see a young newbie olympian capture the gold again to make the Russians go DOH! :)

I read that article about Netflix a few days ago. I was considering getting either Netflix or Blockbuster Online. Do you have either?

Now, Nikki, I must say I think that's not fair. I liked what this article had to say. It's not entirely her fault that she felt that her career would be "defined by the lack of Olympic gold"; it was also everyone around her who told her that it would. And it's not Michelle's fault the alternates weren't allowed to come to the games with the rest of the team like they usually are. And Emily's got a promising career ahead of her; it's not like this was her last chance. I don't know; I still don't think there's anything wrong with her wanting one final shot at the gold.

But perhaps I will become an Emily Hughes fan, so I won't have to feel like I'm cheering for any of Michelle's old competitors. . . And I did like the way she behaved when she was told that she would be only an alternate at the Olympics. So that's good too.

Cheeky Netflix!

I've used a similar service in the UK called Lovefilm.com. I wonder if they have a similar throttling thing? I didn't stay with it for long, even though it was good, because I wasn't watching movies enough. They were a very efficient service though - send a disc back, have another 2 days later.
