Your assistance is appreciated, Sado-san, although I believe you are not under the jurisdiction of the Eighth. Please keep up the good work in any case.

I will. Not sure how much it's helping. But I will.

I would say any action is more than the lack of any, especially in this case. If you are working, it is helping.

What happened? Are you all right? I can come check on you right away if you need me to.

If you would, I'll be in my quarters. Thank you.

A slight case of inadvertent fire in my face. Do not be overly concerned, I was able to deflect most of it in time. I would still appreciate a professional hand, if only to ensure that the burn heals without scarring.

I am, however, afraid that my fringe is a lost cause.

Oh no! I'll be right over! Your poor hair. It's always been so lovely... Maybe I can dig up some hair growth remedies. There might even be kidou for that type of thing.

The door is open. You need not knock.

It is a very frivolous notion, but yes, I cannot help but lament the state of affairs. I will have to think of some way to arrange it again.

Ah, so that's where I put that thing. Are you quite all right, my dear?

Yes, sir, I am now. Isane-san was most helpful.

The records in question have been quarantined to the locked file cabinet in the far corner. You will find them there should you wish to peruse them again.

Let me make it up to you, Nanao-chan.

Ah. That is a kind offer, sir. How, precisely, if I may inquire, were you planning to go about it?

Oh wow, is that you, Ise Nanao of the Eighth? Didn't think I'd be hearing from you again, it had been so long. I've been better, to be honest. Apparently there's a smartass anteater in my head. Who'd'a thunk, huh.

You can simply call me Ise-san, if you wish.

I am sorry. You must have heard something of what transpired in Soul Society recently. I haven't had time to think about much else.

An... anteater? I suppose you mean in a more than a strictly physical sense?

Yeah, I know. But Ise Nanao of the Eighth has more oomph to it, don't you think? But Ise-san is less of a mouthful.

I heard what happened in Soul Society. Sucks to be you guys--no offense. We dealt with those guys here for a little while, but apparently not half as bad as you.

And I don't mean literally, if that's what you're asking. Not exactly, anyway. It seems whatever the Octava did to me, I somehow have a zanpakutou sharing my headspace. Yeah, I don't get it either. All I know is he's an anteater and his invocation is obscene and I have no damn idea what to do with him.

It also takes more time to shout out in a dangerous situation, as an acquaintance of mine might put it. That is not to imply that I predict you would have any need to do so.

None taken, Apache-san. What you say is merely the truth. We have taken heavy damages.

I didn't expect you meant it as a literal fact. But a zanpakutou? What possible cause could there be... [*whirrrrr gears turn and then something clicks*]

Do excuse me. I must check up on something.
