I'm becoming less and less fit for academia. All I want to do lately is have people over, cook, and learn random stuff in my "free time". Speaking of which, last night I had Tina and Jean Pierre over and cooked some awesomeness. And watched Lost.
Cut 1/4 Cabbage into 2 inch strips
Slice 1/2 Onion similarly
Boil 5 cups of water
Add Cabbage and Onion
Add 1 tsp salt
Cover, bring to a boil
Add more salt/pepper to taste
Dice 1/2 onion
Dice 1 tomato (or do the lazy way - buy diced tomatoes, add 1/2 cup)
Dice 2 Jalapeno peppers
Put above three ingredients together in a bowl, mash lightly
Skin and Cube 2 medium sized potatoes (1/2 inch cubes)
Heat 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
Add mashed onion, tomato, jalapeno mix.
Add 1 teaspoon minced garlic
Add 1 teaspoon of each - chilli powder, ginger powder, coriander powder, cumin powder.
Add 2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
Fry for 3 mins.
Add potatoes
Add 1/2 cup water
Add pinch of salt
cover and cook on medium about 5 minutes
Add 2 cups frozen cauliflower (thawed in microwave for 2 minutes)
cover/cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Enjoy on its own or with tortilla.
Lost was hella weird...I don't know if I like it.
